So, I’m still sick. I call you can’t hold it against me. This photo comes from my Sister-In-Law’s hilarious blog. Tonight I don’t even know what I was thinking, nor do I think I pulled it off at all. Way to sell my piece, right? Oh well, it is what it is. Confidence in a piece comes from knowing you put in the due research (which none of these pieces ever receives, I only have an hour after all) and time needed to produce good work. Tonight’s design received none of these.

Ok, so maybe you noticed that I didn’t post yesterday. I knew that day would come, I just didn’t expect it to be so soon. Remember a few days back how I said I was ill? Still am, only worse now. Yesterday was the worst of it (i hope). I have used like a gajillion tissues or something similar to a tissue. I will always stand by Puffs over Kleenex. Truly, a Nose in Need Deserves Puffs Indeed. That tagline is genius, in my opinion. Every time I buy or see Puffs or I get sick I always think of the slogan. I highly recommend the kind with lotion. I haven’t tried the kind with Vicks 44 in it yet, maybe that will become my new favorite. Well, sorry for the skipped day, hopefully it won’t happen again.

Winter does a number on my lips, they get very dry, luckily this stuff saves the day. I’ve never been a fan of chapstick or lip balm or whatever. I feel like it only masks the problem, feels good for a bit, then they are dry again. One day I bought some Vaseline brand lip stuff, it worked amazingly well. I looked at the ingredients, and literally it said “Petroleum Jelly, Flavor”. Flavor?! I didn’t know you could list “flavor” as an ingredient and get away with it. So I decided spending way more money for “flavor” wasn’t worth it, so I just buy the mini tub, and it lasts way longer than a year, I think I’ve never actually used a whole thing, I lose it before it’s gone… Anywho, there it is. Enjoy.

I said don’t judge us. We hadn’t planned anything for dinner and we wanted to have pasta, and we wanted garlic bread, and we didn’t have any of our own bread, and we didn’t have time to make any bread, so we broke down and bought Walmart French Bread. There, I said it, we bought bread. Wait … I mean … we bought this bread only so I could redesign the sticker … that’s right.

So, this weekend is Thanksgiving weekend. Time to celebrate the goodness of the season. For part of my celebration I will be printing some Christmas/Holiday cards on my C&P letterpress now that I have some free time. A friend of mine did the design, now we are going to print them. Maybe I’ll post a link on here to a photo of them done after we print them. Anywho, one of the colors being used is Rhodamine Red, so I had to go out and buy some. This is the label on the nice Rubber Based Rhodamine Red I picked up today. Gans does a really good job of keeping it hue-coded (instead of color coded), it’s actually rather helpful. Obviously in a perfect world the label would be printed in the exact PMS of the ink, but that’s asking for way too much.

Remember those commercials? Why do they call them Apple Jacks? They don’t taste like apple. Me neither. Cereal boxes are always so intense, I wondered what it would look like to simplify this baby. Tonight I didn’t know what to do, so I had my wife pick, it was kind of fun. Of course she picks something off the wall. … ah nuts, I just realized I didn’t put the Kellogg’s logo on there.

Ok. So I think I have exhausted all of my adhesives. I had no idea I had and used so many different forms of sticky stuff. Tonight I was wandering the apartment looking for something to redesign, when I saw the tape I thought “This is a weird shape, I’ll give it a shot”. It wasn’t until I was taking the picture that I realized “wow, another adhesive…”. You’d think I am sponsored by 3M or something. Hrm… wonder if they’d go for that? I could always use more sticky stuff.

I thought it would be kind of fun to stick with a similar idea as the original, only with a more updated pattern. I chose a nice argyle because I’m wearing an Argyle sweater. Right. Now. Just not those colors. It was hard to resist the urge to do it in green and red.

Maybe the Enriched and Bleached hurts the healthiness of it, but who cares, it tastes great! My wife and I bake bread, and other flour based goodies quite a bit. I was thinking it would be cool to have bright white flour come out of a dark grey bag. The contrast would be fun.
