- [note]For viewing older Posts, please use the archives of the months down at the bottom. For some reason the navigation in this template is broken. The site is going through a redesign itself, so I didn't think it worth my time to fix it. [/note] A daily redesign in an hour or less. The objects chosen to redesign are picked fairly randomly every day. I try to find what I redesign the day I do the redesign. When the year is up I hope to have developed the ability to concept, and execute quickly with great attention to detail.

Mounting work has become a therapeutic activity for me. There’s something very satisfying of shutting off my brain and simply working. After spending hours upon hours on a design, racking my brain for something fresh and creative, working my guts out on making a design something I’m proud of, I love the “winding down” process of meticulously measuring and cutting down everything (I also love the “winding up” process of ironing my shirt in the morning). The satisfaction of a perfectly measured, and cut piece is hard to explain. The only hiccup to my joy came when it was time to actually mount the work. I would use a spray mount, but it drove me nuts. I would have to go outside (usually in the dark) and spray my work. Glue would be all over in my arm hairs, and if I was wearing shorts it would drift to my leg hairs as well. It’s one of the most annoying feelings. Ever. Then along came this stuff. I love it. I recommend it. Buy it. It’s great. Tonight I wanted to go over an edge, and I figured the best way to represent that was to actually show it. So I did some quick learning on the 3D stuff in Illustrator, it’s pretty good for a quick mock-up.
